“The next best thing after T-Niteâ€Entre Club brings to you Tee Fight – the Retail Business Competition. This is not just another B-Plan Contest, it a real Business Competition, where the teams not only plan their business, but also execute it.
The competition comprises of three stages:
1. Design the Product: Every participating team designs a T-shirt keeping in mind the target segment as the student community of IIMA. Based on the designs, 5 teams will be selected, or in other words, 5 designs will be selected.
2. Create Marketing Plan: The 5 teams selected will create a marketing plan to sell their product. For the purpose of the contest, the selling period is set to be for 20 days. 3 teams are selected to go ahead with their marketing plans.
3. Sell the Product: In this round the 3 teams go into production and start selling the product in the market. So, here Entre Club works as the vendor for the products and gives each team the product based on their requirements.
The competition simulates a typical market entry for a firm planning to compete in a market of commodities. The market barriers are low and competition is already high. The firms can differentiate based on their product offering and promotion to get the highest market share.
At the end of 20 days, the design that sold the most wins. This is equivalent to saying that the team that captured the biggest market share wins.
